Square One

FCA's Square One intensive outpatient program is a ground-breaking substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation program for adolescents. As a dual-diagnosis program, Square One seeks to serve clients dealing with addiction in conjunction with serious emotional or behavioral problems.

Operating out of its own facility on our 26-acre campus, Square One's supervised five day-a-week therapeutic environment is designed for both male and female teens who need treatment beyond a lower level of outpatient care, require intensive monitoring due to co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues, and have not responded well to previous treatment attempts.

Treatment Approach

Square One is built around a three-phase counseling program. We use Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing as our primary treatment modalities. Core program components include:

  • Assessment and evaluation
  • Individual therapy
  • Group and family therapy
  • Educational activities

Square One is a highly individualized program: After evaluating and assessing needs we work with clients to develop a treatment plan, ensuring that each individual gets the support and attention he or she needs. Typically, clients attend several intensive treatment sessions a week, and participate in periodic follow-up once they have graduated from the program. Although each situation is unique, our typical treatment plan lasts between 90 and 120 days.

Program Costs and Funding

FCA is able to bill many insurance companies directly for services provided through the Square One program. Financial support is also available for uninsured or underinsured clients.
